Choosing the Right Pram for Your Family
The Baby Jogger story began back in 1984 when our founder – avid runner and dad Phil Baechler – invented the first ever jogging baby stroller, because he believed that becoming a parent shouldn’t mean he had to sacrifice his love for running.
Phil wanted the opportunity to spend time with his then infant son without forsaking his favourite pastime, jogging. He soon began bringing his son along with him in his baby carriage, but he quickly discovered that standard carriages were not suitable for long-distance usage over various surfaces. So, he designed a specialized stroller that was appropriate for running, and Baby Jogger was born.
Since then, in keeping with our heritage, Baby Jogger has never stopped pushing to find more solutions that allow parents to experience life with baby by their side.
In 1986, we invented the category of double running stroller. In 2010 we introduced the first single-to-double stroller.
Fast forward to 2021 and we are continuously striving to create products that help parents to live life to the fullest and to share memorable new experiences with their children.
Since launching Baby Jogger in Australia, hundreds of thousands of families across the country have chosen our prams and strollers for their families and we have become the go-to for active Australian parents over the years.

Choosing a stroller
One of the first things we do as expectant parents is select a pram. In the beginning it can seem a little overwhelming; with so many brands, makes and models available in the marketplace, many parents don’t know where to start and are unsure what to look for.
You may be inundated with recommendations from well-meaning friends or family members, however, that particular pram may not be the best choice for your family and your lifestyle. There are many factors to take into consideration before making a final choice.

Will you be running or jogging?
It can be hard for parents to find the time to go for a run or jog following the birth of a baby. Investing in a running or jogging pram is a great solution and allows parents to spend time with their children whilst maintaining an active lifestyle.

Where will you be using your pram?
Will your pram just be used for short outings to the shops, or are you planning on taking it ‘off-road’ for beach walks, park dates and longer strolls?
Will you be using your pram every day?
It is also important to consider how frequently you will be using the pram – will it be used every day, or are you after something just for travel, or to use as a second stroller when the grandparents come to visit?
Do you want the option of converting to a double stroller as your family grows?

Will you be travelling with your pram?
With interstate and overseas travel now back on the agenda, you may be looking for a stroller that is suitable to take on your travels. Many families opt to buy a ‘second’ stroller - a compact, lightweight model which can be taken as carry-on on the plane and also fits nicely into the car boot.

Go anywhere with our highly manoeuvrable hybrid jogger/stroller, the Summit™ X3.
The preferred running stroller for Australian athletes and active families, the Summit™ X3 provides exceptional performance and out-manoeuvres other strollers on any terrain.
Stroll or sprint with confidence with all-wheel suspension. This clever stroller/jogger hybrid is also equipped with a handlebar-mounted swivel lock for your convenience. Simply flip the lever to lock the front wheel when you're off for a run or release to swivel mode for walking.
